高考重要考点：wish的用法
wish是重要的高考考点，既可以用作动词，也可以用作名词，用作动词时宾语从句中需要用虚拟语气。
1.wish vi/vt希望，想要
①wish to do sth希望做某事
Anyone who wishes to take part in the race should sign up in my office. 任何想参加比赛的人都应该到我的办公室报名。
②wish sb to do sth希望某人做某事
He wished his son to be a teacher in the future. 他希望他的儿子将来成为一名教师。
③wish sth done希望某事被做
I wish the letter posted at once. 我希望这封信马上寄出。
2.wish vt盼望，希望，要是…就好了
wish用作这种含义，表达难以实现的愿望，其后的宾语从句通常用虚拟语气。
表示现在难以实现的愿望：
谓语动词用 did/were
表示过去难以实现的愿望：
谓语动词用had done或would/could/might+have done
表示将来难以实现的愿望：
谓语动词用would/should/could/might+do
I wish I were 10years younger. 我希望我能年轻10岁。
I wish I had attended the meeting yesterday. 我要是昨天参加了会议就好了。
I wish he could be on my side. 我希望他能站在我这边。
3.wish vi 盼望，想要 wish for想要/希望得到
Most of all, I never wish for too much. 最重要的是，我从不奢求太多。
4.wish vt 祝愿 wish sb sth
I wish you a happy new year. 祝你新年快乐。
I wish you good luck. 祝你好运。
注意：may表祝愿与wish的不同。

5.wish n希望，愿望（可数名词）复数加es，复数可表示祝愿

6.wish与hope的区别
①hope接宾语从句时表示有可能实现的愿望，而wish表示难以实现的愿望，而且宾语从句要有虚拟语气，hope不用虚拟语气。
比较：
He hoped that he could make progress in the final exam. 他希望他能在期末考试中取得进步。（有可能实现的）
I wish I were younger than you. 我要是比你年轻就好了。（难以实现的）
②hope后跟不定式，只有hope to do；而wish后跟不定式，可以有wish to do sth；wish sb to do sth。
I hope to visit my friend at weekend. 我希望周末去拜访我的朋友。
I wish my friend to visit me at weekend. 我希望我的朋友周末来看我。
③wish表祝愿，wish sb sth，hope没有这种用法。
I wish you every success. 祝你成功。

Hope的用法
1. 从说话语气上看，hope 用于表示可能实现的事情，后接从句时，用陈述语气。如：
I hope I shall see him again. 我希望再见他一次。
I hope you haven't hurt yourself. 但愿你没有受伤。
2. 从时间上看，hope 所希望的一般指将来或现在的事情，不用于指过去的事情。如：
I hope he will come. 我希望他会来。
3. 从含义上看，hope 多用于指对好事的盼望、预想;对坏事的预想则多用“I'm afraid...”。如：
I hope it will be fine tomorrow. 我希望明天天气好。
I'm afraid it will rain again. 恐怕还要下雨。
4. 从句型上看，hope 可用hope to do sth句型，而不能用hope sb to do sth句型。如：
I hope to watch the football match again. 我希望再看一次那场足球赛。
而不说：I hope you to go. 最后，当你要表示“希望如此。”时，就说“I hope so.”其否定形式用“I hope not.”。hope 一般不用于进行时。
5. hope后面还可以接that 从句，意为“希望……;能……就好了”。如：
She hopes that I will pass the exam. 她希望我能通过考试。

hope和wish的用法比较
两词都表示"希望"，但在用法上有相同和不同之处，不能随意互换。
一、相同之处
1.都可接不定式作宾语。
We wish to see the film.
The children hope to do something for the old man.
2.都能以某些代词作宾语。
That's what you have wished.
You can't hope much from such people.
3.都能与介词for连用，后接名词或某些不定代词，表示"希望得到""祈求"。
Do you hope for peace?
Do you wish for anything better?
4.都可与过去过完成时连用，表示本来想做而没做成。
I had hoped to come here, but I couldn't.
He had wished to finish it on time, but he didn't.
5.都用于It is / was to be…that的句型中。
It is to be hoped that she will get full marks in English.
It is to be wished that the problem will soon be solved.
二、不同之处
1. wish作为及物动词，可接名词或代词作宾语，hope则不能。
Do you wish a pen or a book?
2. wish能接双宾语表示祝愿，hope则不能。
I wish you success. 。
3. wish能接复合宾语，hope则不能。
I wish you to go with me.
4. wish和hope都能接that引导的从句，但wish后的从句的谓语动词要用虚拟语气(动词用过去时，或过去完成时)，hope则用所需要的时态。
I hope that he will win the game.
I wish that I knew the answer.
I wish I had bought it yesterday.
5. hope可与so或not连用，分别代替一个具有肯定和否定意义的宾语从句，以免重复，wish则不能。
-Will it be fine tomorrow?
-I hope so.
-Will it rain tomorrow?
-I hope not.
三、wish, hope都可作名词，可数或不可数均可，wish表示"愿望""心愿""祝愿"，hope表示"希望"。
